Let’s take a walk on the dark side! Just kidding. Dr. Nerissa Kreher is a pediatric endocrinologist who left her practice to check out the world of pharma. She’s gone from treating patients to creating therapies and realized that pharma really isn’t the dark side.
Listen as she shares her story and why it’s so important to have the confidence to fail.
Early in her medical career, Dr. Nerissa found herself intrigued by the pharma and biotech industries. Rather than treating patients day in and day out, she saw the opportunity that being on the cutting edge of technology provided. She switched her roles and hasn’t looked back.
But that’s not to say that it was easy. Doctors don’t learn about the pharmaceutical industry or biotech while they’re in medical school. They don’t learn about writing resumes, conducting job searches, or any of the things that are needed when moving from medicine to pharma.
While the pharmaceutical industry is in need of doctors, that doesn’t mean that the jobs are easy to come by. That’s why she now coaches physicians on what the “other” side has to offer and how they can dip their toes in the water if they want.
