Money is hard. There are so many gurus out there sharing all the tips and tricks on how to make money, how to save money, how to invest money, and yet, all of our lives we’re told not to talk about money. How in the world can we figure out the world of money, if we only hear one side and we never talk openly about it?
That’s why I’m doing this money series. Because it’s time we all started talking about it.
So, back in 2015, Mr. Weisman and I were trying to decide some life things. We were trying to figure out how to go after our goals and dreams while still taking care of our budding family and not killing ourselves in jobs we hated.
One way to do that was to take home all the money that I would have invested in my retirement account. Instead of putting that money away, we saved it all in a rainy day fund and we created a nest egg that allowed me to leave my practice.
Listen in to learn what happened next and why I have no regrets about not socking money away right now. Will I later? Maybe, but I refuse to kill myself to make money for tomorrow when my goal is to live life today!
