Super quick episode to encourage you if you’re starting to feel crispy around the edges. Each month I do a masterclass. Last Sunday of the month, 1 hour, get your butt there! This month we were chatting all about burnout relapse, because it does happen, and that’s okay.

If you’ve been following along, you know that I recently re-entered the clinical medicine world. I have LOVED it, but things have been getting a little crispy. Which brought the concept and reality of relapse to the fore of my mind.

Here’s the deal. Relapse will likely happen. We are built to push ourselves because we’ve been doing it for so long, but now you have the tools to catch it before you get full on blackened.

But, if you’re in the middle of it, here are some tips and strategies you can use to combat burnout relapse.

First, love on yourself with some self-compassion. Relapse is normal. It happens. You are no better or worse for it. Stop talking down to yourself because you’ve started to backslide. Second, take a break. You probably need it. Third, rest.

I share a fantastic quote at the end of the episode that you really need to hear, so listen in!

“Rest is active detox.” Dr. Errin Weisman
