Are you ready for my Summer Solocast Series? I am doing some quick solocasts to get you juiced up, infused with encouragement and inspiration. I want you to go about your summer loving your life and making things better.

You are not broken. If you’ve been looking around looking for that perfect guru to help you fix you so that you can find success, then this is the episode for you. Because the ‘Are You My Mother’ mentality doesn’t work. Here’s why.

Let me tell you a quick story. A friend of mine and I were hiking the other day. She’s new to the whole hiking situation, so she went out and bought all the new gear and all the new clothes so that she could feel like a true outdoorswoman.

Then there was me. I have my same backpack that I’ve had for years and I’m wearing super comfy clothes that I’ve been hiking in for almost as long. No matter who has the new shiny things or the old worn in things, we both have to walk the same path.

So the next time you feel like you need someone to come in and fix you with all the new shinies, remember this episode. Instead of the new shinies, take the next best step for you and you’ll be amazed at where you find yourself.

“You are not broken and you are not that far away from the things you are seeking.” Dr. Errin Weisman

In this episode:

[02:09] Today we are discussing why the ‘are you my mother’ doesn’t work.

[03:08] Don’t try to find someone to fix you, find someone to help you navigate.

[04:19] Don’t seek someone else to get your answers, take your next best step.

[05:33] If you aren’t walking, then you aren’t getting anywhere.

[07:21] Go outside and have some fun and I’ll talk to you next time.
